Link-Ed Reading/Literacy comment📚📘

Reading is one of my favourite subjects and I read in any spare time I have. Last week I liked how we put project group meeting with project workshops and projects this year was fun.I think teacher should give recommended stories for my level of reading as I don’t know many authors. I think that we should work on more actual reading than writing. I like the way that we get to write in free time and have learn different techniques and styles of writing. I love the ways we work on Reading/Literacy at HPPS.

Basic Facts workshops❌➗

At the moment we have been going to opt-in workshops, that relate to basic fact's. We have to do 3 math workshops along with 3 literacy workshops . I think that this was a good idea because we have the change to prove some goals. It is Tuesday and so far the workshops that I have been to are:

1. Stage 8: Quickly recall conversions between fractions/decimals/percentages 
2. Creating reading and project comments on link-ed
3. Editing skills - how to be an effective self and peer editor on blogger
4. Stage 7: Recall all multiplication and division facts to 10x10

I have yet to attend:

1. Stage 8: Know simple powers of numbers to 10
2. Personification & Hyperbole
3. Grammar: Affect or Effect

So all together that is 3 maths and 4 literacy. I think this is a good use of time because I need to touch up on most of my basic facts and It will also help me prove some goal.

Project process comment

This term 3 I have been involved in a project in which you had to choose out of three categories. I chose Teach it and for this you have to create a YouTube video teaching other student about an experiment. You also had to include the science behind it in the video. Rhiannon and I joined up and decided the experiment we would be doing:Changing colour of a flower. In our process we wrote a script and that helped us along the way. As we started the recording we had some trouble working out how to stand it up on our own. So we problem solved and used a laptop to stand it up. As we went though the video we faced a few mess ups and fixed them up along the way. Our finished product was good quality and we both agree it went well. Next time we can work on common sense because we set up a camera overnight and forgot that the sensor lights turned off so you could’nt see it half the time.

This week everybody will be finishing up with projects. This slide includes our process on our project and  information on how it went.

Algebra w/ Daniel

This term I have been in Daniel's math workshop. One of the follow ups are challenging like a sheet to work on with a bunch of different questions. The equations started of simple for example: 2 (x + 4) =17. As I progressed it became slightly more complicated and  the sums were now like: 5x + 3 ( 4 - x )  =17. I think this maths workshop is a good level for me but I still need to learn some more rules.

Project video: Actual one

This is our real video and it is a re-do of the other one. This one is better and we had more time to make it. It took a few takes and then it was created. My favourite part was creating the movie and recording us creating the slime. This was a good challenge for me.

Fluffy slime experiment reflection

 The other day when we made fluffy slime we think the video was good and it worked well. There was a few mistakes made and my one didn't work well, but I made some spare. Rhiannon's on the other hand did work. Overall I think that so far our project has gone well and I am looking forward to making our next experiment. I think if we wanted to redo it, we would have a bit more experience and a lot more time.

Fluffy Slime

This is our fluffy slime video. We have made a video on how to make fluffy slime and the science behind we will go on our next video next week. This was our practice video and we will have an improved one to show.

Project Intro

This is the intro we created for our videos. We had to learn how to use it and it was one of the challenges in our project process. I liked the way that this website let you make it completely to your liking. I like our intro.
